Marcomedia leading the way in creative sector

Marcomedia leading the way in creative sector

We were interested to read this recent survey by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport about the lack of diversity in the creative industry. We felt proud that this was yet another area where Marcomedia was doing things differently…

The survey, as featured on industry website Dezeen, found that white males were dominating the creative industries, with women filling less than 40% of positions and BAME (black, Asian and minority ethnic) employees making up just 11% of the sector. As a firm that has always celebrated diversity, we’re pleased to say that this is far from being the case at Marcomedia HQ.

In fact, 50% of our team are fantastic female designers, over 50% of us are in the BAME category and the ages of our employees covers a wide-range.

We pride ourselves on doing things a little differently and we wonder if our diverse team is one of the reasons we have had so much success working for such a wide variety of sectors over the years – from sole traders, to international corporations, household brands as well as health, education, housing sectors and local government.

Encouragingly, the survey revealed that numbers of female and BAME creatives was slowly increasing. But it’s always nice to be ahead of the curve…

If you’d like to work with a creative firm that’s leading the way not only when it comes to diversity, but also trend-setting design, digital and highly competitive print, call our friendly team on 0208 590 0922 or email us at info@marcomedia.co.uk or arrange to pop in to our busy riverside HQ.
