They’re back! The Newham Business Awards are now open for submissions for the sixth year running – and they just keep getting bigger and better thanks to the dynamic local business community we have here in Newham. Submissions are open to both Newham-based businesses and companies that have completed substantial business in the borough. Here’s the lowdown and the links you need:
The background
We have been proud to have been involved with the awards from the early days – from attending and being commended to being responsible for their rebranding to sponsorship. Each year the awards have attracted more attention and entrants with the gala dinner on the awards night itself seeing some 200 local businesses in attendance.
Why you should enter
Entry is straightforward and free but the benefits to your business could end up being priceless. Your business will be featured in the local media (radio and newspaper) as well as on all the publicity around the event and on the Newham Chamber website. In addition, the awards event itself (for which finalists receive a complimentary invitation) gives you the opportunity to exclusively network with 200 other local businesses.
The categories
There are fourteen categories – ranging from those such as Corporate Social Responsibility and Civic and Community Engagement to Sole/micro trader of the Year or Business Person of the Year. So there really is a category for every type of business, covering all the areas they could excel in – from how much they’ve grown, to how they look after their employees, to how they adapted or provided support during the pandemic. Once again, we are proud to be sponsoring the E-business of the Year award and the calibre of entries is always high because we have so much tech talent in the borough. How to enter
Entry is free and the deadline is 5pm on Wednesday 31st August 2022. Simply choose the category that you want to enter and complete the online application form here. All you need to do is fill in your details, tell us a bit about you or your business and how you fit the criteria of your category.
