The recent #NHS70 celebrations provided the perfect opportunity for us to look back on the work we’ve done for the NHS over many years. We’ve said before that print and design can change lives, but in the case of the NHS and the awareness-raising campaigns we’ve worked on – great print and design can save lives. Here are some of the projects we’ve been proud to support…
Be Clear on Cancer
The Be Clear on Cancer campaign aims to improve early diagnosis of cancer by raising awareness of signs and symptoms and encouraging people to talk to their GP. The campaign covers a range of cancers with different symptoms and was part of the Government’s strategy to save an additional 5,000 lives per year.
We provided flyers, brochures, business cards and pull-up banners to local NHS teams and partner agencies for distribution within various communities. The evaluation of the campaign showed that people recalled the advice, were seeing their GPs for the symptoms and there was an increase in early diagnosis of many of the cancers targeted.
Think HIV/It Starts With Me
We were very proud to be involved with the Think HIV campaign (since rebranded as ‘It Starts With Me’) which aims to raise awareness of practical measures to manage HIV such as where and when to get tested, treatment and use of condoms. We produced flyers for general use and also to raise awareness among migrant communities that treatment is free regardless of immigration status. The campaign had an impact on awareness and has increased testing.
Flu Safe
Most people are now aware of the flu jab – particularly if they are in an at-risk group. However, this has not always been the case and there was some misinformation circulating about the flu jab being just for older people. We provided flyers for a campaign to bust some of the flu jab myths and encourage other at-risk groups, such as pregnant women and younger people living with long-term conditions to get the jab.
