Your Royal Docks: Keeping things original this Autumn

Your Royal Docks: Keeping things original this Autumn

As graphic designers, keeping things original is a key part of what we do. And we get to do what we do in one of the most inspiring, creative places in London – The Royal Docks. This Autumn, The Royal Docks launches its Originals Festival – a month-long extravaganza (and we never use that word lightly) of immersive art, music, comedy, you name it – we’ve even been given our very own rainbows for the month. Come see it all and make an appointment to come and see us while you’re at it…

Royal Docks Rainbows

What better inspiration for your next campaign than arriving at our Expressway Studios and being greeted rainbows? Working with local school children, multi-sensory design magicians Bompas & Parr have created an interactive rainbow at Silvertown Way. And, when the sun is shining, they will be creating actual rainbows right over the Royal Docks!

Arrival

As the Royal Docks Team beautifully puts it, The Royal Docks have long been a place of embarkation, from the Romans and Anglo Saxons to Irish and Jamaicans, and the new arrivals have brought their own stories here. Arrival will conjure a melting pot of Royal Docks people, ideas and potential, exploring its rich past and the ambitious future, creating a picture of one of the most compelling inner-city sites in Europe.” Arrival takes the form of trails around the Royal Docks, culminating in performances of film, music and storytelling inside shipping crates. Want to announce your arrival? We’ve helped hundreds of local brands get started so why not be inspired by Arrival before you book an appointment to arrive at our studios?

The Factory Project

The Factory, next door to our fellow Newham Chamber of Commerce members, Tate & Lyle, will be transformed into a gallery showing diverse artwork. We pride ourselves on the diversity of the businesses we work with and would love to produce some artwork for you too.

Stop Press News

We’ve blogged recently about the resurgence of print, even during lockdown, and in particular the popularity of printed ‘home-grown’ magazines and newspapers. Stop Press News is a series of walking workshops examining the many famous titles that were printed and circulated right here, covering the major news stories of the day over the last 150 years. We might not have 150 years of print experience but we do have more than most and have advised brands, organisations and collectives on the print options that will be most cost-effective for them or achieve the exact feel they want.

We really hope you manage to catch some of the Originals Festival here but if you miss it, there are fab events throughout the year so there’s no excuse not to come and visit The Royal Docks as well as your favourite design, print and web team! Call us on 0208 590 0922 or email us at info@marcomedia.co.uk for a free quote if all of this creativity has inspired you to get creative with your brand.
