OK so we are paraphrasing slightly – but who are we to argue with actual science? Read on to find out how getting away from it all can boost your business…
The science bit
The first thing that struck us about this article on creativity from the New Scientist was the complete lack of desks. Perhaps predictably, nowhere does it mention that sitting behind a desk or in an office boosts creativity. What it does mention is
- Letting your mind wander
- Being abroad
- Big blue skies and open seas
- Having fun with friends and family
- And even a glass or two of your favourite tipple
So basically, all the stuff we do on holiday. Did we mention that we’ve paraphrased this slightly?
Inspiration on the move
Joking aside, all the research points to the fact that our best ideas and solutions often come to us in the most unexpected of places. Thanks to smartphones we can now record thoughts, make notes and take photos of the things that inspire us wherever we are.
Anything to declare?
Great ideas quickly become missed opportunities unless we make them a reality. Wherever your inspiration has struck, our friendly team of creatives will sit down with you and help you plan how to bring your design, print or online vision to life. Over the years we’ve watched many a concept start life as a sketch on the back of a napkin and go on to become a successful marketing campaign. So whether you need design, digital or print advice and whether you want to chat things through, show us a mood board or a beer mat with a drawing on it – we’d love to meet with you!
