Case Study: SL Construction

Case Study: SL Construction

How do your customers know who you are? Every time someone visits your website, looks at your marketing materials or sees your social media posts they are learning something about your business so it’s essential your brand speaks for you.

We love working with clients to understand them and design the perfect logo and visual identity for print and web. SL Construction asked us to help them develop their branding to show how they create beautiful, colourful homes to suit the personality of the family that live there.

The background

SL Construction know that a home is made up of all the different spaces people use to live their daily lives. To the homeowner it’s not just a kitchen, or an extension. It’s far more than bricks, mortar and a lick of paint. It is an expression of who they are. For us it was essential that our approach to their website, brand and full visual identity represented that.

The brief

Having built up a strong reputation for quality work over 20 years which led to regular referrals and repeat customers it was time for a refresh. We were asked to build up a stronger brand which signalled tasteful design and showed their passion for enhancing the heart of the home to generate new business.

The solutions

Since home improvements were key to the services offered we focused on this in our design. Services include loft conversions, extensions, kitchens, bathrooms, refurbishments and landscaping, literally covering the entire home from the ground up. Picking up on this our logo design shows the structure of a house with grounds and a range of rooms with colour highlights representing windows. The colours connect through to the colours used throughout the site and into offline materials too.

The results

Just as an interior designer ensures that there is a flow through a property to ensure that all the spaces work together, good design for print and web must convey a continuous message through all materials. It helps your customer to connect with your key message so they can instantly relate to what you do and how you do it. We love to use colour to help by providing a consistent thread which stands out and highlights the links you want them to see. For SL Construction our neutral grey background makes the white house leap off the screen or page, with the option to switch the colours when a light background is needed. The bright colours used for the windows then pop against both background options, converting to a bright band of colour in print materials. The same colours pop up as icons for each service type on the website, linking through to a gorgeous gallery of perfect projects to entice the homemaker to commit to their next enhancement.

With a stunning flash of turquoise text, repeated when the cursor is hovering over links, our clients have a palette of potential available to adapt the brand to every possible format giving them flexibility for the full range of design, print or web applications.

Have a look at our portfolio pages and think about whether your brand truly shows your personality too. Ready to refurbish your brand? Call us on 0208 590 0922 or email us at info@marcomedia.co.uk to discuss your project today.
