Whether you believe in ‘Blue Monday’ or not, the grey winter weather and fewer hours of daylight can certainly take their toll in January. Which is why it’s the perfect time to talk COLOUR. We hope this little rainbow-coloured blog will have you feeling the golden glow of inspiration in no time …
Ultra, Ultra read all about it!
The pantone colour for 2018 is ultra-violet. Described as ‘dramatically provocative and thought-provoking’ this colour was a favourite with icons such as David Bowie, Prince and Jimi Hendrix and is summarized by Pantone as ‘Imaginative and inventive, ultra-violet lights the way to what is yet to come.’
This vibrant purple colour is often associated with the galaxy, as well as meditation-based practices. Which makes it the perfect colour for any wellbeing business but also for any business that wants to convey a more progressive, creative, innovative or thoughtful image.
The effect of colour on peoples’ moods has long been scientifically proven, and chromotherapy (or colour therapy) is an ever-growing practice. When it comes to your brand or campaign, we can discuss both your personal colour preferences and the associations of particular colours. For example, these are some of the moods associated with brands using different colours:
- Orange tones – confidence and fun
- Gold and yellows – warmth and simplicity
- Reds – bold, retro, youthful
- Purples – creative, thoughtful
- Blues – trustworthy, corporate, professional
- Greens – sustainable, natural
Of course, within these there are a whole range of shades and all the other elements of design – shapes, typeface, copy etc – which will all alter the mood of your marketing. So if your brand is fun but professional or youthful yet experienced we can find an identity which is just right for you.
