Take a sneak peek into 2023 with our design trend predictions!

If there’s one thing we can all be sure of it is that design trends never stand still for long. With evolving technology and our world changing at speed, it’s fundamental that creativity and design develops at a reflective pace. Here are our trend predictions to help your organisation keep in touch with what’s hot and what’s not so you’ll continue to stand out from the crowd in 2023…

Anti-Branding

Yes, we do spend a lot of time talking about the importance of branding and, yes, now we are talking about anti-branding – but here’s the catch: if you’re keeping things simple it’s more important than ever that you use a graphic designer because there is a very important difference between minimal and simplified and something that looks like it was done in ten minutes in Microsoft Word. That said, the ‘less is more’ approach and branding that is barely there is going to be big in 2023. Done right, this style can be extremely effective in showcasing your company’s message and what it represents.

With a simple black text on a white background and an unfussy logo you can say so much about your business. This trend quietly yet confidently denotes eco-friendliness along with a contemporary and forward-thinking ethos.

Keeping things simple will also make things easier for your audience: easier to read, easier to digest and when it comes to your website, easier to navigate. Minimalism for maximum effect will play a large part in design next year.

Shine bright like a jewel

There are two main colour wheels that we are expecting to be popular. The first comprises rich, flamboyant jewel-like hues. Think emeralds, rubies and sapphires. These strong, vivid colours make a statement and are incidentally a good fit for the 1920s look with a modern-day twist (another trend set to be huge next year).

In contrast, for brands requiring a calmer, gentler aura, we predict that pastels will be a popular choice. Pretty pale pinks, light blues, soft ambers and yellows and muted greens are likely to be seen a lot.

Inclusive Images

The focus that is currently on imagery which celebrates diversity can only strengthen. We believe there will be an even greater increase in images and illustrations that support inclusivity on websites and marketing literature. We think – and hope – that this trend will develop throughout 2023 and beyond.
