2022 Design Trends (Part II)

There are so many brilliant design trends emerging as we head into the new year, that we’ve had to do a two-part blog so we can tell you about them! And this isn’t even all of them! Whether you’re bringing your social media up to date or launching a brave new brand, there are so many ways that you can use your design, print and web to start 2022 with a bang – and we’d love to help you…


Sharing is caring

Remember the old days when it was enough to have a social media presence and you’d get bonus points for posting updates on it more than once a month? Times have changed and your customers are now hanging out with you on social media quite possibly more than in real life. Successful social media brands post content which is not only informative and relevant but shareable. Social media slide decks have become increasingly popular over the last year or so as a way of breaking down longer-form information into shareable content. Building on this, brands have begun adapting popular memes or creating visuals with quotes on them, mirroring what is already being shared by their target demographic. Visuals and strong images are key to creating content that is shareable and this is something we could definitely help you with.


60s inspired

The 1960s was such an iconic time in terms of design, it’s not surprising to find nods to it popping up here and there in the world of graphic design. However, where retro designs were once the domain of pop-culture brands, we now expect them to be brought much more into the mainstream as organisations realise they can have fun with design without undermining their credibility. Specifically, we expect to see lots of psychedelic design and geometric shapes in 2022 and we’d love to bring a little ‘60s fun into your branding.


Be you but bolder

Bolder design has been creeping into branding for all sectors over the last few years and we expect this trend to continue into 2022. From vibrant typography to maximalism to playful pops of colour, we anticipate helping brands try bolder, more daring campaigns in the new year. If you want to try a bolder image but aren’t sure that it’s right for your sector, we can advise you on ways to balance brights with muted colours or choose typography that is bold without being ‘shouty’.
