We recently blogged about our night with the stars at Newham College’s Shining Stars event. We have a track-record of being recognised for our training and development of new designers and creatives, helping them take the first steps in their career. We were therefore very proud to sponsor the Work Ready student of the Year award for this prestigious event. It was an important night and one that needed five-star branding and it was our pleasure to step-up!
The background
Newham College’s Shining Stars awards celebrates students who have made significant accomplishments over the previous year – whether that’s by studying hard, contributing to college life or promoting diversity. The event has become a date on the calendars of many local residents, businesses and VIPs.
The brief
It was important that the event felt branded and that the brand reflected the celebratory, inspirational, fun and representative nature of the Shining Stars Awards. It needed to be instantly recognisable and synonymous with feelings of success and achievement.
The solutions
They say ‘we are all made of stars’ so what better way to honour Newham’s shining stars than with branding that is out of this world – literally. We created a logo of silhouette-like profiles of two faces, one male and one female. We then used images of the cosmos to fill the shape – creating a logo that is representative, inspiring, modern and unique. To add prestige, glamour and fun we placed this on a silver glittering background. We used the cosmos pattern again as a divider under which we placed Newham’s logos.
The results
The glittering branding was used in pre and post-event publicity and on the night itself we branded the room with brochures, place cards, large format banners showing all sponsors, posters and invitations. The overall effect was a branded, glittering event which looked professional and was hugely significant to all involved! Once again, we want to congratulate the winners and everyone who made this event the success that it was – here’s to another year of shining stars!
