Something for the kids!!!
Six weeks can feel like a loooooong time – especially when you’ve already used up all your best ideas for activities during lockdown. Thankfully the always brilliant Studio Anorak have produced another Happy Podcast for kids. In addition to their magazines, Anorak (aimed at ages 6-12 years) and DOT (aimed at pre-schoolers), have recorded a series of podcasts in which children ask all sorts of questions about everything Under the Sea, including gems such as ‘do whales pee?’. Anorak aims to get kids thinking creatively and has a gallery of excellent drawings too…
Just to illustrate the point
During lockdown, podcast host and illustrator Justyna Green launched the 100 Days of Gratitude project, asking people in the creative sector what they were most grateful for, to illustrate peoples’ ways of finding gratitude during a crisis. She has illustrated each one chosen, from nature to family to toast and tea. The project can be viewed on Instagram and culminates on 21st September which is World Gratitude Day. We’ve often blogged about our love of illustrative design and how it can help brands appeal to wide audiences.
Access for everyone
If you live or are holidaying in Scotland this summer, the Dundee V&A are running a special event whereby they will be closed to the general public and open to people with special sensory needs. Sound and light levels will be reduced and there will be free access to their Designing Club Culture exhibition. They’ve teamed up with disabilities organisation PAMIS (Promoting a More Inclusive Society) and created a series of adapted backpacks for visitors too. Having worked with many charities, creating design for people with a wide range of needs, we are pleased to see that more and more brands are becoming accessible to a wider range of people.
